Journey Home Day – August 29, 2019

Journey Home Day for RCRTA was held on Thursday, Aug. 29. Members served meals, cleaned tables, and talked to homeless citizens in our community. We all felt we received much more than we gave during our 4 hour day.

Our annual potluck lunch was held on June 4, 2019 at the North Blvd. Church of Christ. As usual, member brought delicious food and enjoyed  wonderful fellowship as we welcomed new retirees to the Rutherford County Retired Teachers Association.

Rutherford County Retired Teacher member, Bonnie Tinsley, gave a brief overview of her book, Against Every Hope at our November meeting. Ms. Tinsley gave an emotional account of her inspiring story about the complicated process they went through to adopt their beautiful daughter. Members were given a question and answer session after her insightful presentation. Later, Bonnie signed books and discussed details of her book with members.
