Welcome to Rutherford County Retired Teachers Association

RCRTA is a group of retired teachers from Murfreesboro City Schools, MTSU, and Rutherford County Schools. We hold informative meetings with a variety of guest speakers covering issues affecting our communities and our life as a retirees. At the end of each meeting, we take time to socialize with our fellow retired teachers while enjoying refreshments.  We welcome all retired teachers to join us on the 2nd Tuesday at 1:30 pm for our monthly meetings at The North BLVD. Church of Christ on Rutherford Blvd. in Murfreesboro.

“Navigating Conversation of Race with Truth and Dignity

Our February guest speaker was David C. Howse, Vice President of Emerson University who gave an eloquent presentation about “navigating conversations of race with truth and dignity.”  He followed his presentation with a Q & A from our on-line members.

Journey Home Donation

Rutherford County Retired Teacher Association donated $100 to The Journey Home day shelter for the homeless.   (Due to the Covid-19 virus, all RCRTA Journeys Home Volunteer days have been suspended.)

RCRTA is a service organization composed of retired teachers from Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford County Schools, Middle Tennessee State University, and retirees who have moved to Rutherford county. Our goal is to support education and to serve our community.
